Dean Warehouse Achieves No Small Logistics Feat
When looking at a map of the United States, it’s easy to overlook
Rhode Island. Physically, the state is the smallest in the country and
outside of the fictitious town of Quahog in the hit cartoon “Family
Guy,” you just don’t hear much about it. But Rhode Island-based
warehousing and supply chain management company Dean Warehouse Services
has quite a use for a state that is small in stature but big on vampire
superstitions.
Despite Rhode Island’s small size, Dean Warehouse operates 12 warehousing
facilities within its borders, totaling nearly 2,000,000 square feet of
space. The company offers integrated warehousing, logistics, and transportation
services, including online transmittal of orders and overnight carrier
services. Dean Warehouse is now making supply chain management easier
for its clients via Dean’s Integration System, a real-time, online,
RF-based tracking system.
Dean Warehouse’s customers, who include more than 70 Massachusetts-based
companies, will now be able to track their inventories throughout the
supply chain. The system, which allows clients to leverage and track information
from the Dean Warehouse WMS by using their own ERP applications, ensures
that the manufacturing process, warehousing, transportation, and order
fulfillment are fully integrated.
Companies using Dean Warehousing will be able to better compete both nationally
and globally. Dean estimates that its Integration System is six times
more effective than traditional pick and pack shipping, and increases
security while decreasing loss. In the end, Dean Warehouse proves that
big packages can come out of small states.

Dean Warehouse Implements RF Integration System
By CCJ Staff
Dean Warehouse Services, New England’s largest warehousing and supply
chain management company, has announced the launch of Dean’s Integration
System, a real-time, online radio frequency-based tracking system that
allows Dean’s customers to track their inventory throughout the
supply-chain management system. Dean serves more than 70 Massachusetts-based
companies.
Dean’s Integration System is more than 600 percent more effective
in tracking product than traditional manual pick and pack, the company
says. The system allows a client’s enterprise resource planning
software to leverage and track the information provided through the warehouse
management system. The benefit ensures that the manufacturing process,
warehousing, transportation and order fulfillment process are fully integrated,
according to Dean.
“The effective movement of inventory is critical to the bottom line,"
says Greg Foreman, president of Dean Warehouse Services. "Global
manufacturing is driving much of the business in the United States, and
for U.S.-based companies, our technology platform improves efficiency
and security, and decreases loss. Ultimately, our technology allows businesses
to be more successful when moving their products.”
Dean Warehouse presently has 12 warehousing facilities in Rhode Island,
with locations in Cumberland, Lincoln, Pawtucket, Central Falls and East
Providence totaling nearly 2 million square feet. Dean’s property
holdings rank it as one of the top 20 largest private warehousing companies
in the United States.
“Companies are working to develop strategies to compete both nationally
and globally," says Brad Dean, the company's chief executive officer
and founder. "Dean’s Integration System allows us to meet the
needs of regional companies and international concerns who are managing
their international production and domestic distribution."
Dean provides complete supply chain management services, including warehousing,
logistics and its own transportation services division. The family-owned
business provides regional, national and global companies with their full
array of integrated services.
“We believe we are uniquely positioned to continue our tremendous
growth due to our ability to provide solutions to companies competing
regionally or globally,” Foreman says. "Our experience is that
in today’s economy, every company is competing on a global level."

Dean Unveils New Online RF System for Tracking of Inventory
Dean Warehouse Services, a warehousing, logistics and transportation services
supply-chain provider focusing on the New England region, has launched
Dean's Integration System. It is a real-time, online tracking system based
on radio-frequency communications technology. Customers of Dean can now
track inventory throughout their supply-chain management systems, the
vendor said. The system allows companies' enterprise resource planning
(ERP) software to follow the information provided through their warehouse
management systems (WMS). As a result, Dean said, manufacturing, warehousing,
transportation and order-fulfillment processes become fully integrated.
Dean Warehouse currently has 12 warehousing facilities in Rhode Island,
with locations in Cumberland, Lincoln, Pawtucket, Central Falls and East
Providence. Together they provide nearly 2 million square feet of warehouse
space.
